Nihonium
In 2016, a new element, "nihonium," was put into the periodic table of elements as the 113th elemt. Nihonium is named after "Nihon," one of the way to say "Japan" in Japanese and literally means "The land of rising sun." THe name is proposed to make a direct connection to the nation where the element was discovered. The 113th element is the first element to have been discovered in Japan and also Asian countries.Original paper (with video movie)
